Cybersecurity vs. Network Security vs. Information Security

What should I know?

Nowadays, failing on being digitally advanced can be costly for most companies. Each day companies compete to be successful, however, behind the scenes there is an ongoing threat at several different security levels, including cybersecurity, network security, and information security.

Cybersecurity

Cybersecurity means to take actions to defend your organization’s networks, computers and data from unauthorized digital access, cyber attack or damage by developing, planning, and implementing various processes, protocols, and technologies.

Network Security

Network Security is a subgroup of cybersecurity which aims to protect the data from being changed or caught by viruses, worms, trojan horses, zero-day attacks, hacker attacks, spyware, and adware. It uses different kinds of solutions such as firewalls, anti-virus software, virtual private networks (VPN), intrusion detection and prevention systems.

Information Security

Information Security differs from cybersecurity because it protects any type of data, it also includes the protection on physical and digital level. It is the foundation of data security and any company should have it.
